How to perform Durga puja?
- Get up and take bath early in the morning

- Sprinkle Gangajal in the house

- Perform the Kalash Sathapna. Place a kalash filled with water and add fresh mango leaves to it. Now, place a coconut wrapped in red cloth. Tie the moli around it.

- Offer sandalwood powder, fresh flowers, and grass to the deity.
- Offer saree or red dupatta to the goddess.
- Start the puja and prayers. Blow the Shankh or ring the bell during aarti.
- Offer prasad to the deity.
Among the nine days, mahashtami or the eight day of the Navratri has immense significance. On this day, nine-year old girls are worshipped, which is also known as Kanchak. As per the belief, goddess Mahagauri was also eight years old. This is one of the important rituals of the Ashtami puja Vidhi at home. By worshipping the girls, devotee seek blessings of the goddess never gets any sorrow.
