Mandir decoration for Varamahalakshmi puja
Goddess Lakshmi is depicted as seated on a lotus flower and bestowing money and blessings upon devotees. In Varalakshmi puja, where Vara represents boon, and Lakshmi represents wealth, the idol of goddess Lakshmi is placed on a wooden plank with a Kalash filled with rice, a coconut, dry fruits, and other ingredients.
The puja mandap is decorated with flowers and a banana tree on the previous day. Rangoli designs or Makolams are made using rice flour.
- Place a wooden plank on the east corner of the puja room.
- Place banana leaf over the plank or a plate. Add some raw rice.
- Now, place the Kalash and include turmeric and Kumkum.
